The world-famous Settle to Carlisle line is served by Leeds to Carlisle trains; the Lake District is served by the Cumbrian Coast Line and the Windermere branch; services to Whitby and Scarborough run through the North Yorkshire Moors and along the East Yorkshire Coast; the Newcastle – Carlisle line glides down the Tyne Valley; and the Peak District is bisected by the scenic Hope Valley Line from Sheffield to Manchester and the line to Buxton.
