ScotRail

ScotRail

ScotRail operates the vast majority of services in Scotland, as well as the overnight sleeper services from Scotland to London.

Fast services operate between Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Queen Street, running every 15 minutes during the day and taking just over 30 minutes for the journey. Other key cities including Aberdeen, Dundee, Stirling, Perth and Inverness are all linked by frequent services too. A dense suburban network serves Glasgow as well as extending to south west Scotland for ferry services from Stranraer to Northern Ireland.

ScotRail also operates some of the most scenic lines in the world (and the remotest in Britain), including the West Highland Railway from Glasgow to Fort William, Mallaig and Oban; the Far North Line from Inverness to Wick and Thurso; and the Inverness – Kyle of Lochalsh service for access to the Isle of Skye.

Both Standard and First Class accommodation are available from Scotrail; you’ll find it easy to look for cheap train fares and book your rail tickets with MyTrainTicket, whether you choose to travel in Standard or treat yourself to First Class accommodation.
